Edmund Optics - Technology Advances Glass Molded Aspheres
Discover how Edmund Optics® utilizes the world-class Aspheric Stitching Interferometer (ASI®
) and MRF®
, from QED Technologies, to advance glass molded asphere manufacturing. This technology allows for 3D digital mapping to form a deterministic solution enabling EO to drastically improve the quality of a molded asphere, resulting in higher volume production, lower cost and shorter lead-times. Founded in 1942, Edmund Optics Inc. (EO) has been a leading supplier of optics and optical components to industry for 65 years, designing and manufacturing a wide array of multi-element lenses, lens coatings, imaging systems, and opto-mechanical equipment. Originally a supplier of optics and other science items for hobbyist and educational use, EO refocused on industrial optics during the mid-1980s. Since that time the company has become well known as a catalog-based distributor of industrial optics and related products, as well as a source for much more, including application integration, custom lens and coating design, and OEM services.
